Busy Day #9

Since I didn't blog yesterday due to the crazy weather... I decided to do 2 posts.
Tuesday was really good.I got up and went to weights, which was pretty boring like usual. We had to run stairs, and do agility's. After weights I went to the store. We went out and did a cleaning job. It was really small and didn't take very long. We came back to the store, and then went with papa to have lunch at his house. I don't really remember what all went on... I fell asleep, and didn't wake up until Mom was there to pick me up. I was very tired. When we came home it was like pitch black out side. They were calling for some really bad weather but it just rained and was pretty windy. So I couldn't blog because of the lightening. It was kinda scary for a while. With not being able to blog I went upstairs and worked on another face picture. You know the ones that I got for my birthday. Well I did another one, and she is a little more wild. I thought she turned out good though. After a while dinner was ready and we came down and had some chicken and noodles. After dinner I put in a movie, The Bat, and Alex went out to shoot at birds again. Mom was in the sun room reading, and Dad left to go clean carpet at Woods. I finished the movie and then went to go and help Alex call birds. I couldn't do it very good so I came inside. I came in and started watching old home videos. They were so funny! Me and Alex watched them for a while, and by the end of the night all four of us were in Mom's bed watching them. There was one when Alex was just a baby, and I was two. It was Christmas morning and I had just opened a present that was a video. Mom asked me what it was about, and I said "Baby Jesus". It was Charlotte's Web!! Another one was of me and Alex shooting baskets in the kitchen. He was four and I was six. We were fighting over the ball or something and Mom said something like... I have the camera on, and I don't want to hear you guys still fighting in 20 years. It was really funny because we still fight about similar things all the time. It was so fun to watch videos of us in California with Sam. We had video of the Ocean, and Alex screaming when a wave knocked him over. (That was really funny... because he wouldn't get in! So I was standing in it ya know, and I kept saying- It's OK Alex! Then he finally gets in and the first wave is big and gets him all wet and knocks him over. He starts to get swept in and he starts screaming "DADDY!".) It was really fun to watch all of that stuff. We finally had to quit and go to bed. I slept in my bed for the first time all summer. I thought that It may help my back. It has been hurting a lot, and I think it actually did help a little. That's all for day #9.

Finishing Up......

So I have some things that I started talking about... like my I Search paper on Gymnastics.
I turned in my paper on Monday and it was 14 pages long. I had all kinds of information, about Shawn Johnson and several other gymnasts, along with basic facts and principels. I also have been stressing in this calss to get my A.R. points. I currently have exactly 24 points and the goal is 25. So today after school I took about 20 minutes to sit down and read a 55 page book that is meant for second graders. It was pretty cute and worth 1 point. So I hopefull will be able to test on that tomorrow and get my goal. The deadline is Friday and I have been scrambling to get points. I've read so many books, like Princess in Pink, Skeleton Creek, Yellow Star, A Long Way from Chicago, Because of Winn Dixie, and today I finished it up with Horrible Harry In Room 2B. So hopefully I will get that test done tomorrow sometime and get all my points OVER with for the year.
Here is some pictures of the CRAZY rain that we got on Friday. This was a Kay's house. Amazing isn't it???!!!

Some other school related things that I've mentioned but not finished...

My tests. I finished my E.O.C. test last week. We still don't know what we got... but they should be done soon. Now we are learning how to F.O.I.L. backwards.

Then today in science we took our multiple choice test and I got an eighty seven percent. Which is better than what I usually get. We will have another test on Monday.

In English we had a test over reading stratagies.

In American history we have a big Civil War memorization and summary project due. So that will be a big project to tackle over the weekend.

In P.E. we finished up our frisbee packets, and form weight lifting.

In Mom's room I'm very excited that I finally finished their book inventory. I wrote down every title of every book that they have. I also checked to make sure that every one of them was there.

In art we turned in our 2nd to last sketchbok today, and we finished up our self portraits today too. On Monday we will start our soap carvings and have to have those done in a couple days because... WE ONLY HAVE 4 days of school LEFT!!!!

After today we have 6 but the next two days we are going on trips. We have a reward trip to S.B.U. tomorrow... and on Friday we are going to the high school for M.A.P. carnival. There are games and stuff for us to play and do during the day. Then we will have 3 days of school next week... then the 2nd to last day we'll go to the park and play all day long... then the last day of school is a short day, all we'll do is have an awards assembly and clean out our lockers. So lots going on but its not anything real exciting. It's going to weird this summer not having school or anything to talk about. I will just have pictures and stories from swimming, playing ball, riding four wheelers, and playing with the cats and Bud.

Another exciting thing coming up is MY BIRTHDAY!! Coco's birthday is coming up too.. it is on the 25th. So I'm VERY excited.

I don't think I have anything else to finish up... except that tonight I'm going to Pizza Hut to weight tables. We are doing this as a fundraiser to earn money for our basketball camp this summer. I'm not quite sure how this is going to go... but I'm excited because Bree and Gina will be there with me.

Have a nice evening!!! Love -Rach

Darling Drawings

This is my art project that I was excited to show you!! It is grid art! This is the magazine picture I tore out, and below is the drawing that I did of this page. I thought It turned out pretty good!!!
This is the two pictures next to each other.
The other thing that we do in art is a sketchbook. We have an assignment that we draw and turn in weekly. This is the cover I designed.
This is my first sketch book drawing!! I got a 27/25 because I did the bonus. I thought It was good.
Now about the last few days. So I told you about the high school meet we had to work at, and that night we were watching Mizzou play, well they won. Then Friday school was pretty much CHAOS!! We started working on our four year plan for high school, and then later went to the high school to listen to the speeches given by the kids running for Student Council. We will be voting on Tuesday. Our meet was canceled on Friday so after school we had practice, which wasn't too hard. We were stuck in the old Elementary gym, so all we could really do was work on hand offs.
After practice Leona picked up Bree and Me then we went to her house!! It was lots of FUN. We talked, made cupcakes, and watched a movie. "She's the Man" with Leona's favorite actress Amanda Bynes. This morning Bree's dad picked her up, and Leona dropped me off at my house. So this afternoon all I really did was work on my art project. At around 2:50 we left for the Hubbard's house. We spent the rest of the afternoon watching Mizzou play against UCONN. Sadly they lost, I was hoping for them to make it to the final four. But North Carolina is still in and hopefully will keep going forward!! I have a very funny Tyler Hansbrough story.
While we were at Jefferson City the tour guide was telling us about what the requirements are to be able to have a bust in the Capital. She said they had to live in Missouri at one time, and do something great. So Anthony asked her if he could elect Tyler Hansbrough into the Capital. She said,"Who's that?". Anthony goes,"The best college basketball player EVER!". She didn't get it but the guy tour guide was standing over to the side laughing his head off. It was really funny. And I'm sure Alex would agree that he needs to be elected in.
When the game was over(by the way my bracket is going to suffer majorly for that) we left, leaving Alex behind to play, and went to see Grandma Rie. She was glad to see us, we talked for a while, and she told us all about the people she's met and what she's been doing. We were there for about an hour, then came home, and Mom is making some tuna noodle casserole. MY FAVORITE!!!! It has been a very nice day, even though it has been cold, windy, and snowy. But the snow is very pretty. Have a Great Evening!!!

Hi I can't blog yet, because I have to finish my art project to show you all!!! So if you read this come back later, for a REAL post! Bye.

A Blustery Day

Hello! Today has been so great! This morning I woke up, a little sleepier than I would like, then got ready for church. This morning in Sunday school we watched part two in our making right choices video. It was also very exciting because Leona was there, and so was Gina and Josie. After Sunday school we went upstairs for church, which was led today by Abiding Faith, our drama team. They did so wonderful, they led worship, had testimonies, and several really funny skits. I learned today that I should show my crack in public, and you only will get that if you were in service today. So now that we are home, Mom is preparing lunch, which is going to be YUMMY!!! I am so hungry, and we're having my favorite, mac and cheese, fish sticks, and tacquitos. Alex is playing video games, Dad is on the other computer, I am blogging, and Bud is down in the bottom sniffing stuff. I still don't know exactly where the cats are. I saw Coco yesterday and got to play with him, but he disappeared. The house smells SO GOOD!!

I'm reading right now in my book, Princess in Waiting, by Meg Cabot, and it is getting really good. She is now in Genovia, giving speeches, and giving her opinions to all of these big places. If you read the books and get to know Mia's character, you'd know that she is very earth friendly, vegetarian, and donates lots of money to Green Peace. Her whole life she has grown up in New York City, and her mother has some strange thoughts her self. So the things she says to the government leaders is pretty funny. Here is a section of the book (it is a diary)

Royal Daily Schedule

Met with Genovian casino operators. Was discouraged by their insistence on maintaining valet parking for their patrons. Explained substantial increase in revenue generated by parking meters, but was rebuffed.

This is just a little paragraph.

So I had to stop in the middle of my post to go and eat lunch. It was SO GOOD! I'm stuffed! Later I think I am going to read some, go play with Bud, and look for Coco and Skit. So I am just going to continue to relax and enjoy!

Hope you have a HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

All is well in the Wheeler Home

Hey! It has been SO long since I posted last. I thought I would give you a rundown of the last couple days. Pictures will have to come later, I'm at Kay's house.

Friday wasn't too interesting at school.

  • Science-finish up lab from yesterday.
  • Algebra 1- grade and go over homework.
  • American history-finish reading script and discuss.
  • FACS-read from book and discuss questions.
  • P.E.-have study hall.
  • English-go to gym and watch Opera, The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
  • Mom's room-cut out papers and then go to Mr.Ochner's room and get stuff.

That was my day mainly, the Opera was really good. I thought it was cute. Then after school I went home with Bree and Leona. We rode the bus the the high school, and then Tracey took us to their house, they left later to go to Bree's little sister's basketball game. So we were at the house doing pedicures and doing girl stuff. At around 10 we heard the loudest pounding on the door and the windows. Me and Leona were super scared, screaming and hiding in the closet. But it was just Bree's aunt, as we had suspected that she would come. We fell asleep to a movie. This morning I woke up to her little dog Lily, that I have plenty of pictures of, running across my belly. We got up a little later and made breakfast and then just laid around talking. Mom came in to give me some money for the game today, at Missouri State. We left at around 12:00 AM and rode to Springfield. The game was at 2:00, and before we went to the bathroom and got some food. We had a good time watching the game, the Lady Bears won 65 to 75. It was a good game, one of the girls was from a town real near to us, a freshman, and the other girl I knew was Jakie Stiles, younger sister. We went to Incredible Pizza after the game, that was super yummy, then headed home. We had to take a couple of bathroom stops so we didn't get home until after Mom, Dad, and Alex left for his basketball game, that is at 8:00 pm. So Bree's dad brought me over to Kay's house, I thought that if I got too tired I would be able to go to sleep. For now I am here and Mom and Dad will not be getting home until very late. So hope your weekend has been just as fun as mine!!!

A Blustery Day

Today was GREAT! Now it is officially the first day of second semester. First hour in science we did some more work on lab that we did Friday. Second hour in algebra we went over our tests and then did some in class work. I am was so happy I got a 94% on my test, which is the highest ever. I also got to see my semester grade which will go on my high school transcript, and it was and A- 91%, which is good for me. Third hour in American history we graded homework, then we were supposed to memorize the 15 battles of revolutionary war in order. Here they are

  • Lexington Concord

  • Fort Ticonderoga

  • Battle of Bunker Hill

  • Long Island

  • Quebec

  • Lake Champlain

  • Trenton

  • Princeton

  • Brandy Wine

  • Saranoga

  • Savannah

  • Charleston

  • Cow Pens

  • York Town

  • Treaty of Paris

I am pretty sure this is right if I'm wrong, then I'll practice some more. I am in my room right now with the computer. I came up here to print some pictures that you will find out about here in a little while. Fourth hour in Facs, which I have now since it is third quarter, we went over kitchen rules and things like that. Our assignment is to take a brown paper bag and fill it with five things that we like. So I put in a paper basketball, and softball, a piece of orange paper(my favorite color), a cross stitched book mark, and I am going to put in a picture of Coco and Me because I love him. Fifth hour in P.E. we played hockey. Sixth hour in English we had a reading workshop day. I got a quite a few pages read in my Princess Diaries book, did you know that Mia has blond hair in the book, and get gets it colored bleach blond, not brown? I thought that was funny how they changed such a big part of the story. Seventh hour in Mom's room, Mom wasn't there, she was at a M.R.I meeting. So I went and made the stuff I needed for facs and made Leona some new stars, for her folder. I gave her some earlier this year, and they ripped so I made her some new ones. After school Mom took Alex to basketball practice, then dropped me off at home then went back to practice to watch. Dad is at work I guess, and I am here all by myself, for a little while. I was outside for about 45 minutes. It was so nice! The wind was blowing and Coco and me were rolling down the hill. I have a video here of me and Coco going down the hill, it will hurt your eyes but you might be able to see how WONDERFUL it was. I took like 60 pictures in black and white. Most of them turned out good, so the hard part will be deciding which ones go on the blog. I am hoping I have time to do most of them. I am going to try anyway. I also need to get the pictures of Dad's birthday on here. I have him blowing out the candles on video and some other good pictures of the Family. Here they are.

A great Day!

Hey, today has been very good. But 8Th grade is very tiring. Well first thing this morning at 5:30 AM I got up and got ready for basketball practice. We picked up Josie and came into town. Practice was good, and after that we went straight into school. First hour in science we did a lab, and in algebra we graded some work and did some word problems. Third hour in American history we did a test preparation paper. Which I didn't even start, but it is due on Monday. Fourth hour in music we played review games and then has a worksheet that I finished. Fifth hour in P.E. we played cone kickball. And at the end we I got a mini Reese's, snickers, and kit Kat for good sportsmanship. Sixth hour in English we had our literature circles, and we are going to finish our books this weekend. The book I am reading is very good, "Walk Two Moons". It is about a girl who lived in Bybanks Kentucky, but when her Mother leaves unexpectedly her and her father move into the city so they can forget the past. Her father knows a women named Margret, she helps them move in and get settled. She makes a friend, Phoebe. Several months later her and her Grandparents are going to Lewiston, Idaho to try and find her mother. Along the way she tells them of the adventures she encounters with Phoebe and her family. I really like this book,it starts out slow but when you get to the climax, everything is good from there. Then seventh hour I went to Mom's room and I put up some books. After school Alex had basketball camp so Mom stayed in her room and did some work. At 5:15 or some where close to that, we came home. Right now we are watching Indiana Jones 4, It's due tonight and we wanted to see it one last time.

Mom has some chili on the stove and it really sounds good on this windy night. Well I guess I'll be going now. Bye.
PS. In the picture above that is our new couch that we have had for about a week now.

It's a blustery Day!

Hay! is for horses. Today was really fun! First hour I had science, and of course we had a lab write up, and that's my only homework tonight. Then second hour in algebra we talked some more about real numbers and some other stuff. In third hour American History we finished the section and then did a review, but I got it done in study hall. Fourth hour study hall I did that then started on my lab write up but didn't get too far. Lunch, but skip that to P.E. we played ultimate football and my team won every time. Then while we were walking the stairs while the boys were playing we were pretending to be undercover cops, protecting a famous couple that was getting married. Aubs and Lanna were the "couple" so to speak, and Beth and me were the two under cover cops. I was the flower girl with a gun in my basket, and Beth was pretending to be an usher. Then there were two guests, a maid of honor, and two run aways. Me and Beth would run around and shoot them before they could hurt Aubs and Lanna. We had so much fun! Then in English we had to do a layout for our essays, I finished in class. Then in seventh hour small engines we took notes and studied for the trouble shooting test that starts tomorrow. I am really nervous, just because I don't really know what I am doing. I think my group will do alright though. After school we had basketball practice and it was pretty boring. I had a good time though. We just did some basic drills and ran. So I am hoping tomorrow we can do some plays or something. I need to go do my science homework though so I'll see ya!
