Hey! Today was FREEZING!!
I knew I hated the cold weather we've been having lately, but this!
Holy cow! It is way too cold,(we should cancel school). If you didn't already know we had school today! I think that we shouldn't of gone, mainly because the roads were horrible and so were the sidewalks. But in the end it was okay that we went because now we don't have to make it up later. So lets back track to this morning, leaving our house. If you don't know where we live well here's a picture of where our house is. On a hill right.
Well... we have a LONG gravel driveway, and to get to the highway you have to go up a hill that is at a very steep angle.
So I guess you know the rest of the story. We started to go up the hill and we couldn't. So we backed up and tried to go up the hill on the grass, through David's yard. But we couldn't go up that way either because of the ice. By the way Coco and Skit are so cold, the run in the house when we open the door. I always hate it when you have to kick them right back out. So sometimes I hold them for a second and let them get a little warm. So anyway, luckily David was just leaving to take Drew and Tate to school, and saw us. So Mom tried a different way that he suggested, and we almost hit a tree so we stopped. David took us in his truck to school. We were driving there and even today when we were coming home the roads are still covered in ice. Not even the school roads were cleaned off. I guess this morning Tate fell on the ice. There were lots of kids during school not making wise choices, and were sliding on the ice. I tried to tell them they were going to break their bones, but they didn't listen to me. I of course did not slide on the ice. That's another thing my kids aren't allowed to do. PS. I have been making a list of things my children aren't allowed to do. Sliding on ice is right up there with dribbling a ball in the house. Oh and burping.
And again.. getting back on track, We got to school, a little later than usual, but safely. So that was good. I guess everyone at prayer group prayed for me because I wasn't there and they thought I was sick. First hour in science we had a sub since Mr. Ochner couldn't get to school from Willard. Steve was there and we graded our lab sheets then just talked. So we really didn't do too much that hour. Second hour in Algebra 1 though we had a lot of homework. We went over homework from Friday and then talked about slope some more. I think I am getting the hang of it. I hope so at least, we have a test over this stuff on Wednesday. This week I have five tests music, algebra, performance event in science, multiple choice in science, and daily oral language. I am not looking forward to these. Third hour in American history we graded a paper from Friday and then started reading the next section in our text book. Fourth hour in Music we did a review game for our test tomorrow. I hope I do good on it, the only concerned about on it is music history, w
hich is really hard. Fifth hour in P.E. we went to the weight room. Sixth hour in English we went over D.O.L. and then started listening to our tapes of our radio broadcasts. We listened to ours and it sounded pretty good. Seventh hour I went to Mom's room and worked on my algebra homework, which I finished. I also wrote a really good poem about Ice. Here it is.
ICE
Bye: Rachel Wheeler
Ice, Ice, Everywhere,
Not even snow,
Make sure you watch were you go,
Ice, Ice, Everywhere,
All over town,
Whenever it melts surely we'll drown.
Pretty clever huh. After school we dropped Alex off at the store because he has practice, and Mom went outside to shovel snow. I decided to stick to playing on the computer. I will eventually have to study for that test, but it shouldn't take too long.
I am so close to finishing all of my gifts. I only have 2 left and one of those is pretty much complete. I should do that instead of this. I am going to be going now. BYE.
PS. Alex's Christmas concert was canceled until Thursday. Bye.

I'm glad you got to school safely. You must have more ice than we did. Or maybe it's just because I'm in town now that it didn't seem so bad.
What is slope?
I'd like to see that list of things your kids can't do. And hear the tape of your radio program.
Be careful out there.
