Back to school and more

Hi! Sorry it has been a long time since I have written anything, but since school started things have been busy. Well, after we went camping that week, Alex had some friends over and then I also had some people come over. Then, that Thursday was the first day of school!
I like school right now. It is very fun, and I think Alex likes it too. First hour I have science and then algebra which is kinda hard but I am learning a lot. Actually I am in a class of kids that are all advanced. Last year in seventh grade we all took an 8th grade course and just skipped 7th grade math. Now this year we are all taking algebra 1 and will have a credit for next year done. I also have American history which is pretty interesting. We are learning about pre history and the Native Americans. Also I have p.e. I learned about a sport that I had never heard of before, maybe you have. It's called team handball. Well, anyway it is a combination of soccer and basketball. The army brought the sport over from Europe. It actually is in the Olympics and made its Olympic debut in Germany. I also have English which we are now reading The Three Musketeers, a smaller version, it is in English. I like it so far, but the writer likes to drag things out and makes everything really long and wordy. My last class is small engines, I passed my first test. I only missed one. I don't really like the class but it is kinda fun. Right now I am building an engine. Yesterday I put in the camshaft and the crankshaft gear. Then I screwed the base on and was about to put it on the stand and we had to clean up. I also have put in the valves and tappets, my clearance was right and the springs are good too. So far only one thing that has gone wrong. I broke a gasket, but I don't think they cost very much. Next quarter I am going to be an office aid in mom's class room, she is making me finish small engines. I don't really want to but she says I need to. Another really cool thing is that after school on Tuesdays we are going to have a school newspaper. It is an after school program. I am very excited we start this Tuesday. Which if you didn't know this weekend is a four day weekend since it is Labor Day weekend. The newspaper will have pictures and a sports column, along with a comic section, the lunch menu and all the stuff that's going on in middle school. I am really excited to get to take pictures. I don't know if any of my friends are going to be on it but I think I will find someone.

I do know that Jacob and Drew and Tate all like school. Alex doesn't really like it mainly because of the homework. Alex is playing in a baseball league this fall and is really enjoying it. He doesn't know anyone on his team but is making new friends. This is just a team that a bunch of kids that are ten and under all signed up for and they just put together a team. They haven't won any of their games but they have had lots of fun. My cat Skit is just now starting to let me pet him. I ,for the first time, heard him purr the other night. This weekend we aren't doing much just going to relax. Tonight there is a home football game so everybody will be going to that and then after that I am going to spend the night at a friend's. Last night Alex and I stayed up really late watching " Night At the Museum". Actually, Alex watched it. I fell asleep right after the part where the dinasaur chases the bone. Before that we were using my camera to make funny videos. We took an eraseable marker and made a mustache on Alex then he pretended to be the weather man. We had lots of fun. Also last night I finished a book called " Lily B. on the Brink of Cool". It was really good, but the whole time I was reading it I was mad at the stupid things that the characters were doing. This morning I started a book called " The Ransom of Mercy Carter" so far it is really good. It is about a girl named Mercy and they live in Massachusetts. It is in the winter of 1704 and the temperature is 10 below zero. They all are freezing and worried because there are Indians that are trying to kill them all. The book is kind of scary right now but I like books like this. I got it from the library, one of my friends said that it was a good book.

Well that's all that I can think of even though I know that there is so much more. I'll try to write tomorrow and tell anything that I may have left out. Bye!!
